Sinai Temple
10400 Wilshire Blvd.
This is an original work by SFVMC's composer in residence, Sergio Barer. It describes the medieval clash of Christianity and Judaism, with the resulting persecution of the Jewish people. It explores the work of Theodore Herzl, the visionary who pursued the rebirth of a Jewish State in the Middle East, imagining it, describing it, and lobbying for it with the German Kaiser, the Turkish Sultan, and other leaders. Finally it details the story of the pioneers that settled in Israel from European and Arab countries to form a Jewish State, declaring its independence in 1948.
